• Paul J. Andre litigates intellectual property disputes involving complex technology, with a particular emphasis on the life sciences, computer science and the electrical arts. Paul both represents patent owners seeking to enforce their rights and defends companies against allegations of infringement. Admitted to federal courts in more than 30 states, he has handled more than 100 patent trials and litigations throughout the country. Paul also counsels clients from a variety of technology-related industries on intellectual property issues, trade secret protection and other commercial matters. He is recognized by Chambers USA as a leading practitioner in patent litigation. According to a Chambers source, “he is responsive, informative and always two steps ahead of everyone else.” In 2021, Paul was named a Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. In addition to his work on behalf of clients, Paul serves as the co-chair of the Intellectual Property practice and managing partner of the Silicon Valley office.

    • Represented a cybersecurity company at a jury trial involving six of its core patents.

    • Represented the patentee at a jury trial in an infringement action involving stem cell technology.

    • Defended a client in a trade secret infringement bench trial involving predictive analytic software.

    • Represented the patentee at a jury trial in an infringement action involving computer software.

    • Represented the plaintiff/counter-defendant at a jury trial in a five-patent infringement action involving security software.
